What is the chance that Renze Klamer, like Eva Jinek, will return to the public broadcaster? Well, that could well, think TV authority Tina Nijkamp. “He will wait now.”

It is very painful for Renze Klamer: with the promise of his own late-night talk show to RTL 4 he was brought by Peter van der Vorst, but the same Peter van der Vorst now pulls his name from the wall. Renze’s own show is taken away and he is expected to merge in a new late show with the generic name RTL Tonight.

Does Renze go back?

What should RTL Tonight be? A kind of late RTL Boulevard, says media journalist Gudo Tienhooven. With presenters who stand on a desk, Wilfred Genee of the Week said Inside today. Oops, Renze is therefore relegated from its own personality show to a kind of Luuk Ikink-like function. Does he want this?

Now that his chair legs are being sawed like this, it could of course be that Renze is longing back to the NPO. It is not without reason that Eva Jinek returned to the public broadcaster. Would he consider it?

“I don’t know”

TV authority Tina Nijkamp wonders. “Yes, well, I don’t know that well of course. I think Renze will first wait a while what the plans are for the new talk show,” she says in her podcast Tina’s TV UPDATE.

It is of course true that NPO 1 is struggling with the low viewing figures from Bar Laat. “Of course it is true that NPO 1 also goes to look at the presenters of RTL, from: we might want to take over one of them because bar is in heavy weather. Of course we have Welmoed and Sam in the summer.”

Keeper

Sam Hagens and Welmoed Sijtsma together will present the summer replacement of Bar. “I think they mainly hope that that will be a big hit, then that could really be a keeper those two.”

Although she notices: “I think they would be interested in Renze. I certainly think so, but it is of course also about whether there is room for a talk show.”

2026 schedule

This year there will be no switch, Tina thinks. “For the time being, Bar is programmed late for the end of the year and it will depend on the success of Welmoed and Sam how NPO 1 will fill in that talk show host from 2026.”

“I think that a lot will depend on that, from that show of Welmoed and Sam. I think we can only continue to talk about the future of the NPO 1-late-talk talk show slot.”
