The 1. FC Köln is not yet through. Against the bottom of Jahn Regensburg, the FC does not go beyond a 1: 1 (0: 0) and has to worry about the direct climb again. Regensburg, on the other hand, has definitely relegated.

In a playfully manageable game, Tim Lemperle (59th) took the lead for the long -term helpless Rhineland. Noah Ganaus (76th) shocked the hosts with the 1: 1. equalization. With 55 points, Cologne slides in second place behind Hamburger SV (56) and – with poorer goal difference – only has three points ahead of SC Paderborn on the relegation rank three.

There is a certainty in Regensburg. For the bottom, eight points behind the relegation place after only one year 2nd league back to the 3rd division. From 32 games so far, the Jahn won six victories and has a goal difference from -46 on the account.

Cologne trembles – Regensburg with the better scenes

The FC team of coach Gerhard Struber was really difficult against very handy guests over long distances of the first half. The Cologne team controlled the game most of the time, only in the direction of the goal hardly anything. Either the hosts moved, played too late or cumbersome. Regensburg’s goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck hardly ever got into trouble.

Quite different Regensburg. Sebastian Ernst had the first really good opportunity with a shot from 16 meters. But Marvin Schwäbe in Cologne’s goal steered the ball over the crossbar.

Discussion about hand situation

Shortly before the half -time break, the Cologne appendix experienced a real moment of terror when the referee team after a defense campaign by Dejan Ljubicic (35th) examined a possible marketing situation in his own penalty area – but ultimately discovered an offside position of the guests in the creation. When Swabia (45.+2) also clarified a tight shot from Ganaus from 20 meters, the “billy goats” were finally happy to be able to go into the break with a goalless draw.

With whistles instead of encouraging cheering calls, the 1st FC Köln was released by the fans from the first half. During the break, however, fans and players caught. “If you are Cologne,” was the first cheering from the south curve and the team followed. The FC tried to set up pressure with a game for its own fan block. However, the penultimate campaign – passing or taking the ball – did not fit.

Cologne increases the pressure

In any case, the Jahn rarely came out of the defensive. Luca Waldschmidt (56th) narrowly missed the left corner with a Schlenzer. But three minutes later it also fit the perspective of the hosts. Lemperle headed a wide Waldschmidt flank from left on the second post against the direction of the gatekeeper into the far corner – 1-0. Redemption, the home fans thought.

Cologne did not shine afterwards, but played a little safer. The substitutes Denis Huseinbasic and Imad Rondic (72nd) ensured another major chance that clarified the guests on the line. In the middle of the Cologne festival mood, the balance fell out of nothing. Ganaus correctly speculated on a sharp cross in front of the goal and pressed the ball into the goal in the second attempt to 1-1.

Cologne merged and fought for the second goal. Rondic (80th) slipped past a cross again. Even with an opaque “Pingpong” situation a little later (84th), the hosts did not accommodate the ball in the goal. Also a last header from Eric Martel (90.+1) after a corner parried Pollersbeck. So the sobering 1: 1 of the leader remained against the bottom.
