Remco Evenepoel won the 18th stage of the Vuelta on Thursday (September 14th, 2023), it was already his third stage victory. He also won the mountain classification.
In the end, the Belgian Evenepoel crossed the finish line first with an impressive lead of 4:44 minutes. Damiano Caruso came second and Andreas Kron came third.
Evenepoel, 23, had previously won the mountain classification of the stage over 178.9 kilometers from Pola de Allande to Cruz de Linares. Even before the final three stages it is clear that Evenepoel can no longer take first place in the mountains classification of this year’s Vuelta a Espana.
