Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 with Galatasaray in the giant derby in the 14th week of the Trendyol Super League. After the match, coach Domenico Tedesco of the yellow-dark blue team made a statement.
HERE ARE TEDESCO’S WORDS:
We did a lot of things well. We wanted to make a simple start to the match in the first half. We tried to play too much of the ball in the Beşiktaş match and fell behind 2-0. Today we wanted to play simple for the first 10-15 minutes. We wanted Galatasaray to defend long balls. We wanted to show intense pressure at the beginning of the match. We started well, but after an individual game, we fell behind 1-0 with Sane’s contribution. Such things happen with such players in such matches. I think we controlled the match at the end of the first half and the entire second half.
“WHY COULD YOU NOT CONTROL THE GAME AT THE BEGINNING OF THE MATCH?”
– Domenico Tedesco: “The reason is this; We are playing against Galatasaray, they are not a joking team. They also could not control the match. Tempo, mentality and appetite are decisive. We did our best. In such matches, sometimes you control the game and sometimes you cannot. It was very important to win the second balls. They constantly played long for Barış and Osimhen.
