Relief supplies for Turkey are welcome at your post office | Interior

People can drop off goods at any of the country’s 657 post offices from February 21 and until the end of March. There is a list of products that are welcome, including food (preserves, milk powder, breakfast cereals …), personal care products (soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels …), blankets, sleeping bags and power banks. Glass packaging is not allowed, and bpost calls for everything to be delivered in sturdy boxes.

“We warmly appeal to everyone to show solidarity. Every gesture counts. Let us join forces to help,” said bpost in a press release.

Bpost has set up a partnership with the Turkish postal operator Ptt for the campaign. The collected goods will be taken to Istanbul. “Due to local security reasons, it is impossible to bring relief supplies to Syria,” said bpost.

Last year there was already a similar collaboration with the Ukrainian Ukrposhta, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In addition, about 140 tons of goods were collected in the post offices.

“Every day you see the images of people between collapsed buildings. Their lives are under the rubble,” said Post Minister Petra De Sutter (Green). “By bringing sleeping bags, milk powder for babies or canned food to the disaster area via bpost, you save people.”
