At Gijs Dirkzwager from Hoofddorp you can see some relief when he puts on his coat to go home again. “Still useful to see the aspects of the new layout. I don’t have much trouble with the planes, but I was afraid that it could be more. And that doesn’t really seem to be the case in my situation.”
“We live so close that nothing flies over it and that probably remains the same. I live in the eye of the storm, you could say,” he laughs.

The information market also explains how the quieter fleet will reduce the sound in the future. “I can throw a plane with a stone when one comes over. I live so close,” says Hoogenboom from Badhoevedorp. “Do you think I’m worried about the 3 Decibel win? You don’t hear that at all.”
“They call it the revision of the airspace, but it is the broadening of the airspace,” he says suspiciously. “Schiphol continues to grow and says what to do about the sound, but I don’t think it is possible.”
NH previously investigated how much quieter those new aircraft are exactly. You can see that in this episode of NH Aaltime.
