Reimbursement for weight-loss medications will soon only be available to the very obese: ‘Otherwise the costs will rise too much’

A group of 1 million Dutch people who are very overweight may be eligible for reimbursement for weight-loss medications through their health insurance in the course of next year. In the coming months, the Healthcare Institute will examine whether the Mounjaro and Wegovy drugs can be included in the basic package, but only for the most serious cases.
