Regiofonds invests 30 million euros in sustainable projects

That fund with 30 million euros is a collaboration between the province and the intermunicipal companies WVI and Leiedal. Some fifty projects are currently under investigation. They must be completed before the end of 2030.

The aim is for the Regional Fund to also act as leverage for other subsidies.

“We were forced by a decision by the Flemish government to withdraw from the intermunicipal associations. Instead of simply putting that money into the provincial coffers, we decided to create a fund together with the intermunicipal associations and the municipalities with which we can make investments in West Flanders. We provide a large budget. We therefore assume that we will be able to convince our partners at higher authorities to invest even more in West Flanders.”
