Antonio Rüdiger lost control in the Spanish cup final. A well-known referee classifies the scene at T-Online-and calls for consequences.

Antonio Rüdiger has long been more than just a defender. The 32-year-old of Real Madrid embodies passion, fighting spirit and leadership at the highest level. His uncompromising duel behavior and his unshakable will have made him one of the most feared and most respected defenders in the world over the past few years. But the memorial, which Rüdiger built with his probably incomparable way, received deep cracks on Saturday.

The defensive player had caused the inglorious final point of a furious final in the Spanish cup final against FC Barcelona (2: 3). In added time of the extension, he threw an object from the replacement bank towards the referee. Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea showed Rüdiger Rot – who then followed a bad swirring tirade in German, while his teammates had to stop him from storming on the square.

Pascal Martin, also known as an influencer “QUALLE”, is a referee and places the scene around the German international at T-Online. “This is a situation that is anything but beautiful. Rüdiger is not a small name. He is a player where many children take an example,” the referee becomes clear.

“QUALLE” has already had experience with loud comments and cross -border sayings (“Ey, you asshole”). “As a referee, you know for yourself that emotions on the pitch are the be -all and end -all.” But: “People have to understand again that not everything happens only from the affect. The statement that Rüdiger had acted out of emotions would not make sense in that case,” he says.

Because particularly palpable situations or, in the case of Rüdiger, a targeted throw went beyond – and demanded consequences. “Quietle” emphasizes that he could not determine a punishment and does not want that either. But: Should the German Football Association (DFB) “push an eye because we need an Antonio Rüdiger, then that would not be a good sign for the lower leagues”. If, for example, the scene had occurred in the district league, “then every player would have received a tough punishment for it – and might even have flown out of the team,” said “Quietle”.

The DFB Rüdiger sharply complained to his campaign last Saturday, but apparently will not sanction it. According to the rules, Rüdiger can be blocked for four to twelve games for the “throwing of an object” on the referee. “It has to be punished so that Rüdiger himself learns and understands that he has made a mistake,” says “Quietle”, who wants to actively promote respect for referees.

According to the “Quietle”, Rüdiger also violated his function as a role model: “If there are children who have seen the action and think: ‘Cool, Rüdiger is my role model that I do this next time’, then it is a development that we don’t want.”
