The rescuers on the popular Spanish holiday islands of Mallorca and Ibiza have gone into a strike for an indefinite period of time. The Unió Socorristes Balears union started protests on the beaches of Can Pere Antoni in Palma and Son Maties in Calvià on Mallorca on Sunday. The low wages, temporary contracts and monthly working hours that sometimes amount to more than 200 hours are heavy on the stomach.
