Reda Kharchouch kills Young Ajax in an entertaining topper

The topper in the first division did not end well for Jong Ajax. In the Oude Meerdijk FC Emmen won the nice duel between the numbers two and four of the ranking with 2-1. The team from Amsterdam still took the lead halfway through.

It was immediately an attractive match between the number two and four of the ranking. Ole Romeny also seemed to score quickly, but his goal was disallowed for offside. Moments later, the FC Emmen attacker hit the post.

Young Ajax also offered a number of opportunities. Especially captain Youri Regeeer should have scored. He encountered goalkeeper Michael Brouwer from close range. Just before half-time, it was already a hit for the visitors. Christian Rasmussen served Sontje Hansen after a counterattack and the winger scored with a low diagonal shot: 0-1.

Kharchouch hurts Young Ajax

FC Emmen increased the pressure after the break. That also led to the equalizing goal in the 56th minute. Former Telstar striker Reda Kharchouch headed the ball into an empty goal after a save by Young Ajax keeper Calvin Raatsie. Shortly afterwards, Raatsie made a good save on a free kick by Miguel Araujo. The goalkeeper barely tapped the ball against the crossbar. Still, it was 2-1 for the home team. And again it was Kharchouch. This time he also scored from the rebound.

Soon after that goal, the team of coach John Heitinga seemed to be level again. Kristian Hlynsson was found near the far post by right back Liam van Gelderen, but Brouwer turned his bet on the line. Young Ajax also had a number of opportunities in the final phase, but the 2-2 did not come.

FC Emmen remains second in the first division. The gap on leader FC Volendam remains seven points. Young Ajax drops to fifth place.

Line-up Young Ajax: Raatsie; Van Gelderen, Llansana, Musampa (Vos/76), Baas; Reign, Fitz-Jim, Hlynsson; Hansen (Misehouy/87), Rasmussen, Banel (Ünüvar/63)
