Every year Roeselare ends the sporting year with the Santa Run. In the early years, participants walked through the streets of the city dressed as Santa Claus/Santa Claus. “The first time we got a Christmas suit and everyone walked like Santa Claus,” it sounds. Now Santa Claus passes by in a sidecar.

The entire center of Roeselare has been cordoned off. The route runs to the Grote Markt and back via Stationsplein to Trax. There, participants enjoy food and drinks at various Christmas stands.

The proceeds from the running race go to charity. “We usually choose causes related to childhood cancer. This year, the proceeds will go to the OOK (Optimal Cancer Support) foundation,” says organizer Geert Nemegeer.
