Record prize yellow at the French fashion prize for young talents Andam

In its 33rd year since it was founded, the French up-and-coming fashion designer prize Andam reports a record sum in prize money: a total of 600,000 euros is to be awarded to up-and-coming young design talents. There is also a comprehensive support and mentoring program.

The sum was also made possible by new sponsors of the prize. For the first time, Instagram is among the sponsors. “From day one, Instagram has been the home of fashion and a longtime supporter of emerging designers. We are particularly proud to be attending Andam this year and joining the distinguished panel of judges and demonstrating our commitment to the future voices of the industry,” said Eva Chen, Vice President of Fashion Partnerships at Instagram.

Also new on board is the luxury multichannel retailer Mytheresa from Munich. “Mytheresa is excited and honored to join the Andam’s esteemed group of sponsors and judging panel to recognize and support emerging fashion designers. As the leading global luxury fashion e-commerce platform, we believe we can provide ANDAM award winners with very valuable know-how and resources for their digital development,” said Michael Kliger, CEO of Mytheresa.

The 2022 jury will award five prizes: the Andam Grand Prix with a prize money of 300,000 euros, the Andam Grand Prix — Special Prize with 100,000 euros, the Pierre Bergé Prize, also with 100,000 euros, and the Fashion Accessories Prize, each with a prize money of 50,000 euros and the Prix de l’Innovation.

In addition to the €300,000 awarded to the Grand Prix winner, the special prize of €100,000 will be awarded to one of the Grand Prix finalists. The event’s mentor, Bruno Pavlovsky, President of Chanel Global Fashion, will offer the winners a year of privileged mentorship for both the creative and strategic dimensions of their business, in order to further develop their label and quickly make a name for itself worldwide.

Applications can still be submitted until the end of March 2022.
