Record number of complaints about smart electricity meters: “A 400-volt power surge broke all our appliances”

Soon every house in Flanders will have to have a digital electricity meter. But its rollout is proving difficult. This year, a record number of 4,698 complaints were received about the installation of these smart meters, which can sometimes even cause damage. “The radio suddenly went out and our boiler made a loud, very strange noise.”
