Reckless motorist arrested after chase, passenger in tears

A 59-year-old motorist from Veghel was arrested by the police on Saturday night after a long chase from Eindhoven to Valkenswaard. Officers had seen him drive down the bus lane without lights and gave him a stop sign. The man didn’t care. He ran off and made it even brighter.

Among other things, he ignored a red traffic light, overtook where this is not allowed and drove at a speed of more than 200 kilometers per hour on the N2, where the maximum speed is 80 kilometers per hour.

Passenger deeply upset

When the man was arrested, the driver was also found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

The passenger who was in the car with him got out of the car – after the officers were able to force the man to stop – very upset and crying. She said the man continued to drive despite her prompting to stop. The man’s driver’s license has been revoked.
