A moment of remembrance is overshadowed by an image error. Real Madrid accidentally showed a photo of a living person instead of a dead one.
As part of the annual general meeting, Real Madrid remembered those who died last year on Sunday. However, those responsible made an unpleasant mistake: Instead of a picture of André Silva, who died in a car accident with his brother Diogo Jota in July, a photo of André da Silva from FC Elche was accidentally displayed.
The error was made public on the same day: the club apologized via platform X. “Real Madrid CF apologizes to Elche CF and its player André da Silva for accidentally showing his image in an institutional video instead of that of André Silva, the brother of Diogo Jota, Liverpool player,” wrote Los Blancos. “We regret this incident.” Club president Florentino Pérez also repeated the apology to those present at the meeting and spoke of a “human error”.
