The Spanish football record champions Real Madrid have regained the lead in the Primera División. The Royals won 3-0 (2-0) at FC Girona and moved past the surprise team of the previous season in the table.
The goals for the Real team, which had German professionals Toni Kroos and Antonio Rüdiger in the starting line-up, were scored by Joselu (17th minute), Aurelien Tchouameni (21st) and ex-Dortmunder Jude Bellingham (71st). However, defender Nacho was shown a red card after an overly hard tackle in stoppage time.
Second in the table is FC Barcelona, who had already achieved a difficult 1-0 win against Sevilla FC the day before. Of all people, long-time Real professional Sergio Ramos, who returned to his Andalusian homeland to Sevilla FC this season, made the decision with an own goal (76th).
