Armed against the Saudi market
Real Madrid have reportedly extended the contracts with Eduardo Camavinga (20) and Federico Valverde (25) and in the process also protected themselves against the financially strong market of Saudi Arabia.
According to the Spanish broadcaster “COPE”, the new working papers for the two midfielders have been finalized. Both the Uruguayan Valverde and the Frenchman Camavinga are now expected to be tied until 2028. Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano also published relevant information regarding Camavinga. The move has been expected in the Spanish media for months. However, there has been no official confirmation from Real Madrid yet.
Good for the “Royals” in view of the enormous financial possibilities of the Saudi Arabian clubs: both players are said to have been given exit clauses of one billion euros. This number was no longer a rarity for new contracts at top Spanish clubs in the recent past, but is now taking on additional weight after a record-breaking transfer summer in the Saudi Pro League. Only the Premier League clubs in England were more willing to spend this season. An exit clause of one billion euros was already anchored in Valverde’s previous contract.
Camavinga came to Madrid from Stade Rennes in 2021 for more than 30 million euros and only missed one game in the last LaLiga season due to a yellow card suspension, although the native Angolan was only in the starting line-up 21 times and rotated between midfield and left-back positions. Valverde had already moved to Real’s youth team from Uruguay in 2016 and is one of Los Blancos’ ten most used players from the current squad.
