With his own serenity, Carlo Ancelotti reacted to the speculation about a possible premature end as a coach at Real Madrid. At the well-minute press conference before the Laliga home game on Sunday (9 p.m.) against the Athletic Club from Bilbao, the 65-year-old was addressed several times about his future. Ancelotti’s recurring answer: “At the end of the season we will talk to the club.”
Ancelotti trains the royal in his career for the second time. He took over in July 2021 and led the team twice to the triumph in the Champions League and the Spanish championship. This season, however, he was eliminated with the Madrilenes in the quarter -finals of the premier class against FC Arsenal, in Laliga Real has to hope for a slip of leaders from leader FC Barcelona with four points.
The contract of the highly decorated Ancelotti is still valid until June 2026. However, speculation recently increased that it could be over after this season or possibly even earlier. Also when asked whether he would become the new national coach of record world champion Brazil in the summer, which has repeatedly appeared rumors and conjectures for a long time, he finally said: “At the end of the season we talk about it.” Leverkusen’s successful coach Xabi Alonso has been traded as a possible successor at Real for some time.
Ancelotti underlined that his relationship with the association is “very good”. “We always do what we do together. We will never have a confrontation.” Real President Florentino Pérez shows more affection in such moments than with Siegen. Ancelotti also finds the hard criticism of the Madrilenen as too violent, after all, his club had won 30 titles in eleven years. “I spoke to the players and I spoke to the club,” said the Italian. “We are all kinked because we left the competition in which we were most successful. You can’t always win.”
