The average price of a house in Belgium increased by 5 percent to 346,218 euros. This is mainly the result of a sharp increase in Wallonia, where the price of a house rose by almost 13 percent due to lower registration tax rates since January 1 and a relatively limited supply. The average price of an apartment increased by 1.7 percent to 275,862 euros.
Although there are also provincial differences, with West Flanders being the only province where the price for a house remained stable (+0.1%) and the price for an apartment even fell (-3.8%). According to Van Opstal, this decrease is due to price drops in the coastal municipalities. On average in West Flanders you pay 296,096 euros for an apartment and 331,888 euros for a house. For example, West Flanders is the cheapest province in Flanders to buy a house.
