Real and Barca with victories in step

Real Madrid have put the embarrassment at promoted FC Girona behind them and shot their frustration off against another league newcomer. FC Barcelona was not deterred by the competitor’s victory in the evening game and celebrated a shooting festival.

The Spanish football champions beat UD Almeria 4-2 (3-1) and temporarily reduced the gap to leaders FC Barcelona. The Catalans successfully followed suit against cup winners Real Betis on Saturday evening. The lead is still eleven points.

Andreas Christensen (14th), Robert Lewandowski (36th), Raphina (39th) were successful for Barcelona in the 4-0 win. The Sevilla professional Guido Rodríguez involuntarily put the end to the game with an own goal (82nd). Historical: Lamine Yamal, who was just 15 years old, made his professional debut. A FC Barcelona player in LaLiga has never been younger.

Madrid, shot down four days ago in Girona (2-4) by four-packer Taty Castellanos, tried to make amends from the start. With DFB defense chief Antonio Rüdiger and ex-national player Toni Kroos in the starting XI, the royals combined happily forward even without the injured Luka Modric.

Captain Karim Benzema (5th/17th/42nd, penalty kick) set the course for victory early on with a hat trick, especially the preparatory work for the second goal caused a murmur in the audience: Rodrygo danced lightly past opponent Samuel Costa on the sideline and served the French in an exemplary manner.

It was Rodrygo (47th) who scored Real’s fourth goal with a long-range shot. Lazaro (45+1) and substitute Lucas Robertone (61) scored for the guests.
