AZ has recorded its third victory in the Conference League against FC Drita. In Pristina in Kosovo, the Alkmaarders won 3-0. With 9 points after five games, coach Maarten Martens’ team is close to a continuation in the European club competition.
AZ had the best chances in Kosovo. In the 17th minute, captain Sven Mijnans was able to tap in after receiving the ball from Isak Jensen. Drita wanted a penalty in the first half after a handball by Mijnans, but the VAR decided otherwise. Weslley Patati had chances for a second goal.
After almost an hour, Jensen made it 2-0. He received the ball from Kees Smit and scored with a placed shot. Ibrahim Sadiq was unable to capitalize on a great chance for the third goal, but still scored a few minutes later. On a pass from Mees de Wit, he headed in the 3-0.
AZ concludes the main tournament next Thursday with a home match against Jagiellonia Bialystok from Poland.
