RB Leipzig’s Lukas Klostermann criticizes the summer transfer period

RB Leipzig’s professional criticized

German, English and Spanish clubs have until September 1st this year to sign new players. The so-called Deadline Day, the end of the summer transfer phase, will be pushed back by one day in 2022. RB Leipzig’s Lukas Klostermann is a thorn in the side of the transfer period.

“Basically, I’m not a fan of the fact that the transition period is so long,” said the 26-year-old “Picture” quoted. “Personally, I can’t quite understand why it runs until after the first competitive games and it’s always a really unsatisfactory situation for all parties.” Other countries sometimes have much longer transfer periods: In Turkey, player additions are still possible until September 8th , in Portugal even until September 22nd.

RB Leipzig: Klostermann believes in Laimer’s whereabouts – Bayern transfers “don’t care”

Klostermann’s club RB Leipzig may also be affected by the existing regulation until the beginning of September, midfielder Konrad Laimer (25) will continue to be courted by FC Bayern. According to reports, this week could already be a decisive one in the negotiations between the parties involved. “I’m not worried about ‘Konny’, I assume he’ll stay,” said Klostermann in a relaxed manner. The departure of defensive player Nordi Mukiele (24) in the direction of Paris Saint-Germain is imminent for Leipzig.

On Saturday (8.30 p.m.) the “Red Bulls” are expecting Bayern to face off in the Supercup. The fact that the record champions have hit the transfer market hard and are not yet at the end of their efforts is irrelevant to Klostermann. “I honestly don’t care how the other teams upgrade. I know we have a great squad and we have to show that on the pitch.”
