Defender El Chadaille Betshiabu prematurely extended his contract with RB Leipzig, which is valid until 2028. The 20-year-old Frenchman was switched from his training club Paris Saint-Germain to the red bulls in 2023 for 15 million euros. Since then, the youngster has been on the pitch for the Bundesliga club 34 times, but Bitshiabu only experienced his breakthrough in the past season.
In the market value update, the defensive man recently made a significant jump from 12 million to 18 million euros. Before his arrival in Leipzig, Bitshiabu was 7 million euros. According to the “picture”, his previous working paper is said to have included an exit clause of 40 million euros – he was also bought in the course of the extension. Bitshiabus salary will be up to 6 million euros a year in the future.
Sports Managing Director Marcel Schäfer said: “We are very happy about the premature extension of the contract with Chad, one of the greatest defense talents in the Bundesliga. Especially in the past season, Chad took a great development, made great progress in all areas and totally earned the extension. Chad combines all the attributes that a modern defense lawyer has to bring with him. At the same time, he combines technology and resolute duel.
Young ladder Baum leaves RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig and young manager Manuel Baum go separate paths. On June 30, both parties end their cooperation mutually, the Saxons also announced on Friday. The former Bundesliga coach Baum had been responsible for the young department and the club’s academy since July 2013. “We would like to thank Manuel for his commitment and the work done, he has brought many things in our academy in the past two years. Of course, we respect his decision for private reasons. The entire club wishes Manuel all the best and good luck for the future,” commented manager Schäfer Baum’s departure.
