Ras Baun Bartam becomes the new fashion director at 032c

Ras Baun Bartam is fashion director at 032c with immediate effect. The 22-year-old replaces his predecessor Mark Goehring, who has held the position since 2018. The company announced the change in personnel by quoting the poet Seamus Heaney, who describes change as an opportunity for growth.

Bartam’s portfolio includes the styling for Kanye West’s latest music video “Heaven and Hell”. He is best known in the industry for his Gen-Z focused style – with his styling creations he breaks through social norms, especially gender stereotypes.

New fashion director for big fashion ambitions

Bartam has also previously assisted in the staging of 032c’s forthcoming FW22/23 Guilty collection. The collection is inspired by industrial ports. Bartam styled the items in the collection in a look book that includes photos from the port of Hamburg. The maritime impressions are reflected in the styling, which shows the models in rubber boots, sailor’s hats and overalls. Some of the materials and silhouettes are reminiscent of oilskins. The look book shows male and female models alike in masculine and feminine looks.

032c was founded in 2000 as a print magazine by Joerg Koch, who is still the editor-in-chief of the magazine today. In September 2019, 032c launched its first ready-to-wear collection with Maria Koch as creative director and Mark Goehring as fashion director.

032c also announced last week that it would be presenting its collection at Paris Fashion Week in June and opening its first store in Berlin in the spring.
