Rapper Young Thug wants to help Africans cross the border in Poland

The invasion of Ukraine ordered by Russian President Vladimir Putin continues to hold the world in suspense. Over the past three days, more than 160,000 people have come to Poland to flee Russian troops. But not everyone should be welcomed equally when crossing the border: the accusations of racism against Polish border guards are getting louder. Now the US rapper Yong Thug from Atlanta wants to campaign for African immigrants.

“Ukrainians first” should be the motto on the border with Poland. According to various reports, people without Ukrainian passports are prevented from boarding means of transport, such as trains, in order to flee to neighboring countries. The majority of those fleeing are African and Asian students. They came to Ukraine to study, among other things, subjects such as medicine and computer science at affordable prices.

Young Thug wants to help with the border crossing

The current situation in Ukraine has not escaped Young Thug either. In particular, the considerable discrimination at the border would have prompted him to take action now. On Instagram, the rapper has now announced that he wants to help African immigrants in Ukraine and at the same time urged artists from the rap scene to get involved.

Young Thug wrote on Instagram: “If some of my rap brothers are there I’m willing to help Africans get out of Ukraine but I feel it [sic]that they won’t let us pass. Whoever has the information for these movements please contact me ASAP, I am ready.”

His YSL Records colleague Gunna also supports Ukraine on social media. He shared an appeal for donations on Instagram and wrote on Twitter:
