Team manager Ralf Rangnick has apologized for the desolate performance of English football record champions Manchester United on Saturday at the 0: 4 (0: 1) swatter at Brighton & Hove Albion.
“It was a terrible performance – from the first to the last minute. We can only apologize for that. The performance was not just bad, it was extremely bad,” said the German coach.
Rangnick criticized that his team had given the opponent every opportunity for a superior victory: “We gave them too much time and space. We didn’t manage to stop the flow of the game.”
The prestigious club from Old Trafford has gambled away its last arithmetic chance for the premier class. At best, the Europa League is still possible for Manchester United.
Rangnick, who will be in charge of the Austrian national team in the future, has won just 11 of his 28 games as a United manager. In the new season, the experienced football coach will be succeeded by Dutchman Erik ten Hag, who is currently still employed at Ajax Amsterdam. However, Rangnick also wants to work as a consultant at Manchester parallel to his job in Austria.
