Iltalehti reached out Ramesses IIie by Rami Shikeben From the Himos Midsummer festival. Shikeben performed at the event on Friday.

He says his best Midsummer memory is the Midsummer of his youth.

– The best Midsummer memories go there, when we were in our twenties and one of Frendit’s parents let us go to their cottage. Nowadays it’s not allowed anymore, Shikeben laughs.

– Midsummer is a rather stagnant celebration, even though there are parties and other things. Let’s just be and enjoy what’s happening. I remember the atmosphere best. I won’t forget this Midsummer either because of this atmosphere, Shikeben adds.

Shikeben’s midsummer was spent this year gigging at Finland’s biggest midsummer festivals. He says that Midsummer has given him even a small amount of stress in the past when it comes to making plans. This time there was no need to do them separately.

– Midsummer is my favorite holiday. Even Christmas can be Midsummer!

– It feels really damn great, the artist sums up.

Shikeben went public with his hit song last year A wild animal winged. The song drove the Finns so wild last year that the artist’s Ruisrock concert had to be stopped for safety reasons. Chaos ensued in front of the stage and in the area, as hundreds of willing people tried to get in front of the small stage to listen to Shikeben.

– It was chaos, but fortunately no one was injured, he recalls the incident.

– I often say at gigs that I will play a couple of my own songs, then a couple of covers and your song, Villieläimen. It’s hard to keep it as your own when the people have taken it as their own. It’s a song for all of us, says Shikeben.
