On Saturday Philipp Raimund made it to third place. A day later he comes away empty-handed. Things are going much worse for his teammate Andreas Wellinger.

The German ski jumpers led by hopeful Philipp Raimund ended the home game in Klingenthal without another podium finish. Raimund jumped to 137 and 127.5 meters and took tenth place one day after his third place. The day’s victory went to the Slovenian Domen Prevc ahead of Ren Nikaido from Japan and his compatriot Ryōyū Kobayashi.

Two weeks before the start of the prestigious Four Hills Tournament (from December 29th), Raimund is the only serious contender for podium places. Felix Hoffmann (12th) and Pius Paschke (26th) still scored World Cup points at the end of the weekend, which was characterized by thick fog.

Things went badly for Olympic ski jumping champion Andreas Wellinger. The 30-year-old Bavarian missed qualifying in Klingenthal after he failed to jump beyond 111.5 meters and thus came 57th. Wellinger will not be there in Engelberg, Switzerland, next weekend.
