The fire brigade had to evacuate several homes on Friday night because of a blazing fire on Gagelweg in Stadskanaal. The fire is under control.
It concerns an attic fire in a terraced house. The flames quickly erupted from the roof. Firefighters feared the fire would spread to other homes.
About an hour later, the fire service reported that the fire was under control. The fire has not spread to surrounding houses.
