Compared to last year, the tournament has expanded considerably this year. In the run-up to the Legends tournament, which takes place 24th on Saturday, the festivities will start earlier. “The open spring tournament will start on Saturday. On Wednesday there is the Kees tournament and on Friday an application tournament will follow. The proceeds go to the charity,” says Ben Davidson on behalf of the organization.
Rafael mainly hopes to create a connecting event. “Around 60 football players are participating. We rarely see each other, so it’s fantastic to meet everyone again.” A small selection of the names: Wesley Sneijder, Andy van der Meijde and Frank de Boer. But artists such as Mart Hoogkamer and Maxim Froger also hit a ball.
The day is festively concluded with live music. Visitors can buy an access card with which they are welcome at the event all day.
