Rafael Nadal says goodbye to the ATP Finals with victory

Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal said goodbye to the tournament after his premature exit from the preliminary round at the ATP finals in Turin.

The 22-time Grand Slam winner from Spain prevailed 7: 5, 7: 5 against the Norwegian Casper Ruud.

For Ruud, too, the game was sportingly meaningless. After victories over Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime and Taylor Fritz (USA), the 23-year-old was already a semi-finalist – as was Serbian superstar Nowak Djokovic in the other group of four.

Auger-Aliassime and Fritz will play for the remaining semi-final place in the red group on Thursday evening (9 p.m. / Sky).
