In a test game by the Bundesliga club Union Berlin, there was probably a racist incident. The club president reacts significantly.
A test game in Herzogenaurach has an unsightly aftermath for the Bundesliga club Union Berlin. In the duel with a third division promoted Schweinfurt 05, racist calls are said to have occurred against a player of the undermate club. Several spectators reported on the incident in the Adi-Dassler Stadium.
The Middle Franconia police initially did not confirm the incident in detail. Further information also failed to materialize.
Union President Dirk Zingler, on the other hand, was already clear. “Racists are idiots-even if they wear Union jerseys,” he said. “Those who degrade people have no place with us. Anyone who has a problem with this should go. Union stands for cohesion, not for hate,” continued Zingler.
Schweinfurt won the game in front of around 300 spectators 1-0. Martin Thomann scored the decisive goal per penalty in the 81st minute. The team of coach Steffen Baumgart is still in the training camp in Franconia until Friday.
