There is a rat problem on the Raadhuisplein in Emmen. Councilor Ugbaad Killincci (PvdA) reports this during the committee meeting this evening. The quality of the water in the existing ponds is also said to be below standard.
Alderman René van der Weide said he was aware of the problem. “A city square in the vicinity of a zoo (Wildlands is located on Raadhuisplein, ed.) can cause problems.” The alderman has now consulted with his officials about the right approach.
