Quincy Promes continues to score in Russia pending criminal proceedings | Foreign football

Promes was briefly in jail in December 2020 for allegedly stabbing a cousin in the knee during a family celebration in the summer of that year. He was released after a few days and left Ajax for Spartak Moscow.

The program news hour revealed last week the contents of a wiretap in which Promes admitted the stabbing to relatives. According to The Telegraph Promes was bugged because he has been linked to a major drug case.

Against Krasnodar, Promes used a penalty in the 38th minute. It was his sixth goal of the season. It didn’t help Spartak much. The top club from Moscow is in a disappointing ninth place after the 1-2 defeat.
