On April 3, 2025, the Lübeck University of Technology said again: Girls’Day! Over 50 pupils from the fifth grade accepted the invitation – and immersed in the diverse world of technology, science and digitization.
A look at the diversity
In a total of five workshops, the participants were able to tinker, experiment and try out new things with experts from TH Lübeck. Whether 3D printing, energy transition, food technology or digital communication-the Junior campus Together with teachers and students, had put together a varied program.
Experience technology – from energy to data protection
How much caffeine is really in an energy drink? In the analysis laboratory of the Centrums industrial biotechnology The students made samples and examined them with professional measurement methods. In the workshop baking with high-tech, spray dryers, plate heat exchangers and high-pressure homogenizers were explained-and also prepared fresh baked goods.
In the energy workshop, the participants built mini wind turbines and houses equipped with PV modules. A highlight was a visit to High -voltage laboratory The TH Lübeck with experiments around lightning and behavior during thunderstorms.
Safe behavior online
The focus was also on the world of digital media: How do messengers, social media and email work-and how can I effectively protect my data? In the workshop, privacy, data protection and safe behavior were discussed online.
Sustainable curious
In another workshop, the students learned how to distinguish plastics from each other – and when they should avoid them better. With a 3D printer, the participants made their own plastic parts.
Since the nationwide campaign started in 2001, more than 2.5 million girls have had over 200,000 Girls’Day – Offered offered. The aim is to inspire pupils for professional fields in which women have so far been underrepresented-especially in the MINT area. The TH Lübeck has been part of this important initiative for many years.
