During her working visit, the Queen will visit the Columbuzz youth center, the Leeghwaterbad, a garage at the Het Dagboek apartment building and the Triton residential complex.
She also talks to residents about the quality of life in the city. In turn, they explain how they are committed to making their neighborhood more pleasant, social and safe.
Mayor Ellen van Selma is pleased that Máxima is still coming to Purmerend. “I am pleased that a new date has been found so quickly and that the Queen can come to Purmerend next week. We are happily looking forward to welcoming her.”
Resistance due to flu
The queen was supposed to visit Purmerend at the end of last month, but she had to make this working visit forced to cancel due to the flu. That meant a lot of disappointment for the residents of the city, who had been looking forward to her arrival.
Yet it was not a gloomy day, because despite her absence the festive gathering continued as usual. “We had a kind of dress rehearsal,” the mayor said at the time.
