Queen Máxima took off her heels at the baptism of some ship and that causes surprise at a duo from the Libelle. “A bit strange images,” it sounds.
Queen Máxima baptized a new ship from the Sea Rangers more than a month ago, an organization that offers underprivileged youth maritime training opportunities. Striking recordings were made of it because at some point she takes off her heels (see below). And we almost never see Máxima without footwear.
“This is strange”
Matthijs Albers, presenter of Libelle TV, finds this a bit unusual. “A bit strange images. Máxima between shore and ship? I don’t know, but she was going to open something and why this?”
Royalty fan Rick Evers on it: “It is quite slippery on board and brand new, so those heels went out.”
Matthijs does not find that logical. “Yes, but wait for a moment: as if it gets safe when she is on her tights … I don’t know if you often walk on tights, I don’t, but I think those things are rather slippery.”
Etiquette
Máxima, who invariably her tights at the Hemaaccording to Rick, it must be on tights. “Yes, that seems to me indeed, but of course that is etiquette. You don’t go with bare legs, you don’t do that, so tights are part of it.”
Then Matthijs again: “Have you seen it before that a royal panties run a ship or not?”
Rick: “Eh, no.”
Matthijs: “So Máxima is throwing it over a different approach.”
Busy day
Rick explains that it is often not easy for Máxima. “Yes, she had a busy day. She had to go from hot to her. Earlier in the day we actually saw her in a fairly austere dress and then in the afternoon she suddenly appeared in Rotterdam with a hat, because a ship had to be baptized and apparently you can’t do that bare.”
Hat up, chopping out. “She was on the ship of the Sea Rangers, which will soon be sailing with young researchers, and Máxima wanted to take a look, but she thought: this is a brand new ship, I better leave my heels ashore.”
The result? A tap on the fingers of the Libelle mode police. Poor Máxima.
