Qatar’s F1 fiasco thickens even more – Valtteri Bottas was stunned by what he saw

The tire problems that marred the F1 weekend in Qatar have made the drivers nervous.

RaceFans website according to the tire manufacturer Pirelli’s communication towards the drivers in particular has suffered badly.

Pirelli reported the tire problems it had discovered to the International Automobile Federation, Fia, late Friday night after qualifying. The same information only reached the drivers on Saturday before the sprint sessions, around one o’clock in the afternoon.

– I read about it online. Someone sent me a link, Valtteri Bottas reported the lousy communication to RaceFans.

– We just want to understand this situation better. We weren’t told until the afternoon, and that’s a bit frustrating. We are the ones who drive the cars. We need to know what’s going on, Kevin Magnussen in turn complained.

FIA has taken responsibility for the communication problems.

Many drivers also wondered why the treads at the Qatar F1 circuit have not been changed more, although they are clearly still poison for Pirelli tires.

In addition, the changed track boundaries, which the drivers were not informed about in advance, caused irritation.
