The area around the Arena has been designated as a safety risk area before, during and after Ajax’s match against AZ tomorrow. Mayor Femke Halsema decided this in consultation with the police and the Public Prosecution Service. The police take into account that supporters are looking for public disturbances.
This concerns the area around the Amsterdam Arena and the Strandvliet, Bijlmer Arena and Bullewijk stations. The parking lots at De Toekomst (P2, P-Bus and P-Plus) also fall under the safety risk area.
In the safety risk area, the police can preventively search anyone from 12:00 noon and check for the possession of fireworks or weapons, for example.
