The game between Hannover 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig is repeatedly the goal of fan protests. Referee Jöllenbeck has to intervene.

Undetent scenes in a traditional duel: The Lower Saxony derby between Hannover 96 and Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday afternoon had to be interrupted twice in the first half of the game. Reason: Fans protests in the ranks in the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena. Referee Dr. Matthias Jöllenbeck was in demand several times.

What happened? The eleventh minute of play in Hanover. From the opposite side to the coaching benches, some remote -controlled vehicles with pyrotechnics flew on the lawn, which was wrapped directly into dense fog by the smoking pots. The fans in the stands unroll a banner: “A black day for football”. Jöllenbeck interrupted the game, but did not send the teams into the cabin, but to the side edge.

After seven minutes of interruption it went on. However, the Hanover fans showed a poster in the stands that shows Lower Saxony Interior Minister Daniela Behrens (SPD) in a crosshair.

Shortly thereafter Also flew tennis balls on the lawn-as at the time of the fan protests against the ultimately failed investor deal of the German football league. The game was briefly interrupted again.

The duels of the two rival clubs have repeatedly occurred in recent years. The police therefore prescribed a partial exclusion for guest fans. The block with the Braunschweig supporters was only a maximum of 60 percent. In fact, only around 800 Eintracht fans traveled to the state capital in protest.

The spectators in Hanover also protest against the measures and do without the support of their team during the game. Both fan camps blame the minister of Behrens for these restrictions.
