Juha Mieto75, and Thomas Wassberg68, meet in Salpausselä on March 23, 2025. The Ski Association announced its announcement on Sunday.
The ski legends take a measure of each other in the Lahti World Cup competition between the men’s 50 kilometers of women.
Mieto and Wassberg are especially remembered for the Lake Placid Winter Olympics of the 1980, where the Swede won only one hundredth of a second in 15 kilometers. Wassberg grabbed gold, with a silver slope in Miedo.
