Only one candidate was nominated to succeed city administrator Carrie Lam: John Lee (64). “We will create a new generation that loves the country and loves Hong Kong,” the city’s former security chief promised. The United States previously imposed sanctions on Lee for his role in the killing of pro-democracy protesters.
