Puma opens sports ground with soccer player Nikita Parris

Puma have partnered with soccer player Nikita Parris to refurbish the sports field at Princes Park Methodist Center in their hometown of Toxteth, Liverpool.

The sports field is intended to provide children in the community “a safe place where they can play football and other sports, giving them the opportunity to stay active and pursue their sporting dreams,” said the Herzogenaurach-based sporting goods manufacturer on Thursday. At the opening, the children had the opportunity to meet the England international where she started playing football as a young girl.

“I am so proud to be able to give back to my community. I grew up in this area and this pitch was the start of my football journey,” Parris said at the opening ceremony. “I want to inspire a new generation of girls and boys to take up sport and pursue their dream of playing sport at the highest level. This is a place where I felt safe growing up and now I want to create a safe place for a new generation of kids in the area.”
