Puma appoints new Japan boss

The Herzogenaurach-based sports equipment retailer Puma has appointed Ryokusai Inoue as general manager for Japan.

Inoue begins his new role with immediate effect, replacing Kohei Hagio, who has led Puma’s business in Japan since 2021, Puma announced on Thursday. He reports directly to Puma CEO Arne Freundt.

The new Japan boss is returning to Puma with his appointment after working for the electric car provider Tesla as country manager for a year. He first joined Puma in 2015 as Director of Retail for Japan.

“I am pleased that Ryokusai is returning to lead this important market,” said Freundt. “I am very confident that Ryokusai’s extensive retail experience and understanding of Puma’s culture, products and distribution make him the right candidate to take Puma Japan to the next level.”
