PSV youth trainer Jürgen Dirkx becomes right-hand man Mark van Bommel at Antwerp | Dutch football

PSV is surprised after the departure of youth coach Jürgen Dirkx to Royal Antwerp FC, as assistant to the new head coach Mark van Bommel. The 46-year-old Reuselnaar was the intended trainer of PSV under 18 for next season, but PSV must now fill that position differently. PSV respects Dirkx’s choice. He previously worked with Van Bommel when he was PSV head coach.

Dirkx was then fired together with Van Bommel (in December 2019) and returned to PSV fairly quickly. He did not go with Van Bommel to Wolfsburg, but the contact between the two is now so good that he and Van Bommel are transferring to Antwerp. Last week it was already clear internally at PSV that Dirkx had been approached and he has now let PSV know that he is leaving.

It is not yet known who will be the new coach of PSV under 18 next season. PSV under 17 is led by Theo Lucius, Stijn Schaars will train PSV under 16 next season.
