The PSV Women were very close to the first national title on Saturday afternoon by winning 3-2 against Feyenoord. FC Twente, however, fought back from a 0-2 deficit and passed the competitor from Eindhoven on goal difference due to a 3-2 victory over AZ. “The 1-10 victory of FC Twente on Excelsior earlier this season has taken us,” says Melanie Bross (28) from Heesch.
“We hoped that there was tension and pressure at FC Twente and that they might leave points. In the break we heard that FC Twente was behind and there was some faith with us. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side.”
Afterwards, the selection of PSV on the field of the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven remained and trainer Roeland ten Berge spoke to his group. Melanie: “It has been a very nice season in which we as a team grew. It is a pity that the perfect scenario did not come out with a title, but hopefully the men will succeed tomorrow.”
