PSV remains undefeated in the Eredivisie after a simple victory over Fortuna Sittard

PSV won 3-1 against Fortuna Sittard on Saturday evening. In a boring match, goals from Til, Ramalho and Bakayoko were enough to put the Limburgers aside. The Eindhoven team therefore remains faultless in the Eredivisie. RC Lens awaits in the Champions League on Tuesday.

This season, PSV matches are often fun to watch. This partly has to do with the playing style of the trainer. Peter Bosz strives to play very attacking and well-groomed football. There was little of this to be seen against Fortuna Sittard. It became a tame and above all boring match.

That also had to do with the visitors’ tactics. Fortuna Sittard was very compact and did not travel to Eindhoven with many offensive intentions.

Despite the fact that PSV did not play big, it managed to win again in the Eredivisie. They have already won eight games in a row. And number nine was added on Saturday evening.

Nice goals
In the first half, Guus Til was the final station of a nice attack. Hirving Lozano, the replacement for the injured Noa Lang, passed to Johan Bakayoko who laid the ball ready for the incoming midfielder.

Ten minutes after halftime, Andre Ramalho ended the game. He headed it 2-0 from a corner. Fifteen minutes before the end there was another rare highlight. Johan Bakayoko scored a beautiful 3-0. His long shot ended up in the intersection. Kaj Sierhuis scored a goal of honor for the Limburgers from the penalty spot.

Champions League
PSV therefore remains without losing any points in the Eredivisie and, despite the poorer play, is gaining confidence towards Lens. The French team is the opponent in the Champions League on Tuesday. PSV must achieve a result in France to keep wintering at the highest level in sight.
