PSV players urge management to stay on Fred Rutten | Dutch football

Another turbulent week is ahead for PSV, after the Eindhoven club failed to secure second place in the premier league on Sunday. Due to a draw against sc Heerenveen, the club will have to work hard next week at and against AZ, where the Champions League preliminary rounds must be secured.

Whether a European campaign will take place next season with or without Fred Rutten is still unclear. Ruud van Nistelrooij’s assistant doubts whether he wants to continue at PSV.

Several PSV players have recently urged him to stay on in a conversation with the management and would also have liked to see André Ooijer stay at the club longer. However, Ooijer wants to stop after this season, for personal reasons. Rutten has yet to make a final decision about his future.

Rabanal

Conversations between the management of PSV and a delegation of the players’ group are more frequent and numerous matters are discussed. Earlier this year there were problems within the technical staff because it was too large.

Among other things, it led to Javier Rabanal no longer sitting on the bench during matches. Especially in the period when PSV performed poorly for a while, there was friction. After that, a mode was found to continue with each other.
