For a transfer fee of 19 million euros and 4 million euros in possible bonuses, Bakayoko will relocate to the Red Bull club in the east of Germany, which is not allowed to use the name of the energy drink due to the rules in Germany and therefore officially bears the articulated name Rasenballsport (grass tribes) Leipzig. Bakayoko is already expected on Tuesday in Leipzig to undergo the medical examination.
PSV responds to Luuk de Jong departure and strictly Alassane Pléa
Earlier interest
The 22-year-old Belgian international can sign a five-year contract with the club in the event of a good outcome of the medical inspection, where Lutsharel Geertruida and Xavi Simons are under contract. There was more interest in Bakayoko, including Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, but RB Leipzig was the most decisive. The Bundesliga club had already looked at Bakayoko last year as the successor to Dani Olmo sold to Barcelona, but then at the asking price of 40 million euros, which PSV then used. That amount had since dropped considerably. Bakayoko has not had a strong season and lost his base place to Ivan Perisic, while he only trapped in Eindhoven for one year, so that PSV could no longer ask the main prize.
Interest PSV in Marvin Young on a low level, but not transfer from the track
Missed record amount
The attacker has had three seasons in PSV’s main force and can consult good statistics. In 131 games for the Eindhoven club he scored 33 goals and gave 22 assists. The Belgian was partly trained by PSV himself and already made his debut in the main force under trainer Roger Schmidt. He only experienced his real breakthrough under trainer Ruud van Nistelrooy. Last summer, Bakayoko was able to move to Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia for a record amount of 55 million euros, but the attacker refused because he did not find that step fit within his career planning. Earlier he also ignored serious offers from Paris Saint-Germain (after half a season in the main force) and the English Brentford (after his first season in the main force).
Kiliann Sildillia Fifth Summer Increase for PSV
Due to the sale of Bakayoko, Malik Tillman (for 40 million euros to Bayer Leverkusen) and Noa Lang (for 28 million euros to Napoli), PSV has already sold this transfer summer for 87 million euros anyway. That amount can increase due to any bonuses.
